The HPI baja endurance challenge has been born from the endurance success of the mighty HPI Baja travelling through Iceland.

The Baja 5B has taken the 1:5 market by storm; opening the world of large scale to a new RTR market and more with the SS'. With it's desert racer looks and extreme performance to match, the Baja 5B was a winner to start.

The HPI Baja Battle is the UK based Qualifier for the Spanish Baja endurance challenge and final round. The Baja battle will be a 3 round chamionship with the winner being awarded the oppurtunity to assemble a top team of drivers to accompany and compete with in Spain where HPI will fund: accommodation, entry fee, fuel and tyres.

The meetings will naturally be for HPI Baja's only (RTR and SS). Normal BRCA race rules apply.

The dates are as follows:

Warstone Raceway, Stratford upon Avon: 25th May 08'
Novarossi Raceway, Essex: 29th June 08'
Nott's and Derby, J26 M1 Nottinghamshire: 13th July 08'

No, genuine 5b or SS only. I'm sure somebody will endeavour to deceive though  .

Question to me re:- can modded run, forwarded.

Reply from HPI.

Depends on the manufacturer of the Mods, if they're HPI your fine, if they not then you may not enter.

Air filters should ideally be HPI, pull start covers are a superficial extra and provide no real benefit to reliabilty, and regarding radio gear; I would strongly recomend a minimum of 40mhz FM, AM is simply too prone to glitching especially given the type of resistor plugs we use.

Email me the mods you want to run with, worst case scenario is you enter but forfit the ability to qualify for spain.
Some tracks may run an outlaw class, provided there is time etc, but once again you will forfit the chance to race abroad. daveb@mirageracing.com

After much deliberation and persistent lack of interest (and entrants); we’re left with no alternative but to regretfully cancel ALL the UK racing stages.

This decision was not taken lightly and was a collective consideration from all involved here at Mirage.

Moving on however I am as usual open to suggestions and input as to how we can improve and amend this series in principal for next years Baja racing challenge.

Once again I’d like to apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused.

The finals in Spain will still go ahead and this is not affected by this cancelation other than the lack of British representation and support.
